About Me

My name is Kim and I am an accredited mental health social worker, qualified to provide a range of focussed psychological strategies (FPS) and evidenced based, therapeutic modalities to support your wellbeing, recovery and healing. I have worked in a range of clinical and non-clinical settings for over 15 years and I am passionate about providing trauma-informed and client-centred care.

Having worked extensively with those healing from gender-based violence, I value trust and safety, and can support you through a range of challenges including the impacts of trauma, mental health challenges, relationship difficulties, life transitions & adjustment and work-related stress including vicarious trauma, burnout and moral injury. I also provide clinical supervision to social workers and other allied health professionals.

My foundational approach is Schema Therapy (ST) but I also incorporate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my practice depending on your needs. Most importantly, I work with you to determine what you want to get out of counselling and together develop realistic, sustainable recovery goals and treatment plans.
